I wanted to take my time writing this review. Probably one of my best dining experiences I've had in a long time, may even be the best ever.

Arriving about 15-20 minutes early for the reservation, the host was able to seat us within a few minutes. We were shown to the staircase and taken to the second floor, a nice cozy spot in the corner of the restaurant overlooking Berkley Street.

The prime ribeye was served with caramelized onions and arugula (I believe, but it was the side act and no one cares about the side act, people come from miles around for star attractions). Only way I can describe the ribeye: decadent! Juicy tender steak, excellent flavor, seasoned right with a beautiful seared crust. Absolutely outstanding. Could have gone for a sauce, but a steak this good stands alone. Opting for a glass of Geyser Peak merlot, it paired well with the ribeye although I wish I opted for a malbec.

Macaroni and cheese: so extra! Very rich, nice bread crumb crust adding another texture to the dish. My wife enjoyed her twin filet.

Being a meat and potato guy, I wasn't too keen on dessert. But there are three pastry chefs. And when you have three pastry chefs, you kind of have to have the dessert. Of course there is not a whole lot of room left. Our server pointed out the small desserts that were 2-3 bites, and lemon poppy cake with raspberry glaze was perfect! The wife is a dessert gal, she chose the Valrhona chocolate layer cake with coffee ice cream. The desserts were amazing and were absolutely divine.

Regarding the experience: a very memorable birthday. Being this exquisite, it is worth the price. This is another restaurant outside my price range, one that I could only afford on very special occasions. This place is being highly recommended to you, the reader. There was no pretention, only a cheery and warm atmosphere by the staff. They want you to feel at home, to feel special. Even though a little above my status, I felt welcomed here. It was a pleasure to patron here and wish to return... someday.
