Orrin Plair Review of Toyota of Richardson

Went to purchase a car from Toyota of Richardson. From the start they immediately added $1000 to the price of the car from 16,897 to 17,897 for car floor mats and detailing oh and another 650 for key fob. Which was ok because the car met most of my criteria for purchase. They then proceeded to add $4500 to the car and asked me to sign before reading. I said no. I read the document and my calculations didnt add up to theirs. They did remove the extra charges. I paid $2700 which was immediately taken out of my account. I signed all paperwork and was ready to take the car. It was late and they said come back in the morning so they could prep the car. I called the next day to see if the car was ready, and they said they wanted another $1,300. Which at that time I figured it was just a money grab for them and decided to take my business elsewhere. I was sent a paper receipt stating that the funds for my down payment had been returned to my account. I called same day since funds had not been put in my account and was on a 3 way call with their accounting and my bank. They stated my funds would be returned from their batch because I stated I only had time to purchase a vehicle that weekend. They hemmed hawed around so much that while on the phone, the bank said that there was no recourse. That's fine I understood. What I dont understand that it is a week later and they still have not submitted my return to my bank for processing which at this point seems malicious because of the request made that they did not want to do. They had no problem in charging my account the same day but have taken an absurd amount of time to process my refund which I paid in good faith. This is a named dealership and I should not have to call my bank and have them help to process a refund like they have never done so before. Literally the words from M.R.'s mouth was he had never done anything g like this before. He did call accounting and the lady stated the same thing and MY bank assistant had to walk them through it
Really??? This whole experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. This is something you would expect from a fly by night operation not a supposedly reputable dealer with the name Toyota on it. Lonnie the sales man did a good job. Durrell/ Darrell the sales mgr. and M.R. the financing guy left a lot to be desired. I didnt trust the sales
Mgr. but that was neither here nor there. Oh I had my own financing and they didnt even bother to contact them or work with them, they immediately denied my outside financing and wanted me to go with theirs. Upon asking other dealerships in the area would they accept outside financing during covid-19 and they said yes and weren't sure why this dealership would say no. I would like to purchase from another dealer but have not received my return in a timely fashion due to what I believe is a vindictive motive because I may have made them uncomfortable some how.
