One of the 3 ski areas on the North Island. Offers fantastic skiing and riding, especially for more advanced athletes. Beginners should make their way to Whakapapa as their facilities are much better for learning how to ski/ride. For Turoa, try make it up in the morning as it tends to get a bit foggy after noon.
