I never throw the race card but if you have any melanin in your skin BEWARE YOU WILL BE MISTREATED.

Dr. Michael K (can t remember his last name) was lackadaisical and impersonal.

Nurse Sherry was dismissive, abrasive, and rude. She even berated the patient: you need to remember what we tell you and what medicines we give you and do a better job communicating to your family . Woah... such an inappropriate demand of a patient, especially of a patient who is confused, in crisis, and experiencing low blood sugar!

Nurse in charge, Germaine, aka GG is more concern about protecting her nurse staff than she is caring about the patient. She did not care to address appropriate patient and patient family s concerns. GG even went as far to punish the family by moving the patient into a different room (one where family was not allowed to visit) without providing explanation as to why she was moving the patient! And then when asked if we could see the patient before being transferred she said NO and walked away without any explanation.

On top of poor nurse support, disrespect, and lack of communication...

One of the security guards, John or Michael had the audacity to tell my mother You should be in the crisis unit . How dare he say something so harsh to the wife of a crisis patient! So distasteful, rude, and downright mean. Fortunately the security manager, Chris Duncan listened to our complaints and said he would speak to his staff member. The staff member needs to be reprimanded and retrained.

So if you are DYING and have no where else to go, then sure go to Bayshore. BUT if you can go anywhere else I highly recommend it.

Please note not all the staff at Bayshore are rotten.
There were some kind nurses and doctors such as a Nurse Lauren, who was caring and compassionate. Nurse Stephanie ( I believe that was her name) who was very helpful! And Dr. Wu who truly did seem sorry when he apologise for some of the staffs behaviour and the terrible long wait.
