A well laid out insight into what life was like in the Navy some 500 years ago. There are a large number of artifacts, well displayed on many glass cabinets with clear explanations of what they were used for. The Museum is in Portsmouth's Historic Dockyard about as far from the entrance as you can get. However, for those with mobility problems there is a free "golf trolley" service between the Dockyard entrance and the Museum. Just ask and it will appear. Inside the Mary Rose museum there are racks of lightweight folding chairs which are easy to carry and well worth the effort as there is a lot to see and a lot of reading to do. Allow about three hours to see everything. If you need to have a break there is a cafeteria inside the museum. Why not a 5star rating? Well the whole of the interior is severely lacking in light and elderly people with failing eyesight may have difficulties.
