Trade fair is diminishing gradually. I hope it could be transformed into a working technology park. For more than a year, the Trade Fair Centre has not had electricity from the national grid and was heavily relient on other expensive means.
By the history, the centre was built to enhance trade in the west African region serving many countries. It started as such but as the years have passed by, that agenda has been changed drastically. Its capitalised with mismanagement and abuse of resources. People are still employed, some rental monies are being realised, loans and grants being received now and then but a proper sense of leadership to push business agenda and profit earning has not being the order of the present day management.
The centre is now characterised by low patronage, dilapidated stores, weeds, darkness at night, rested environment and non-industrous atmosphere.
