I just thought id place my input because ive had a rather mixed experience at this school .3 stars because other then two individuals this school is remarkable and great most of the staff are great ppl that love both god and children. However the two minused stars are due to one of the grade one teachers and the principle but mainly the grade one teacher because my issue with the principle is only that he certainly does not have a customers always right attitude towards the paying parents and is very loyal to the staff to the point that even when a staff is dead wrong he will have the staffs back rather then be worried about the best interest of your child. But anyways when i went to speak with the principle to be honest i didnt feel heard or understood. I felt his only interest was to belittle my concerns and defend his employee. Now the grade one teacher and i dont get along due tothe fact that although my son is a very bright boy and he gets great marks and gets nothing less then around 92 percent and his teacher is doing a wonderful job at presenting the material, her supervision skills are sorely lacking a great deal this whole arguement is happening because i dont want her sitting to baby him through some school work then ignoring him for the rest of the school day then makeing him take it home .her job is to simply supervise as this is a private school and the system is a bit different. She should present the assignments teach the children then the children go into there seperate offices and do the work independantly and if a child needs a bit of extra instruction she may stand beside them break it down for them then walk away and supervise from a distance in the class untill another childs hand goes up now my son is daydreaming during class then bringing work home all i asked is that rather then sitting in school all day because she sits right beside him for a little then ignores him the rest of the day why doesnt she explain the work break it down for him if needed then simply supervise him that means regularly walk by him check and insure he is working not daydreaming. Nicely tap him on the shoulder every so often and remind him to work. Thats litteraly all i was asking and she freaked out left a long rude message stateing that "if he cant focus then he can simply just spend another year in grade one and thats fine" ( its only september) parents what would u do if you have a child with like 90% average but likes to day dream and a teacher takes the attitude that rather than simply teaching him to focus and manage his time well she would rather hold him back a year.....just to be nastey.
