The first pizzeria in the US warrants a visit, and we were happy that it wasn't just a ploy to get people in the door. Lombardi's clearly hasn't just survived off nostalgia and an amazing claim to fame, their food is exceptional. We actually walked 15 blocks in the rain determined to eat here during our trip to NYC, and would happily do it again. The pizza was delicious, totally worth having lunch completely soaked! The menu is very simple, you can order two different pizzas or just make your own, makes it easier than perusing a ridiculous menu of stuff no one wants to eat. The staff was amazing...Their restroom was out of order and locked up, I asked if I could simply use it to change our baby's diaper. They tracked down the key, most people would say they didn't know where the key was and leave it at that, but half the staff was running around looking for it, they were great and we appreciated them going above and beyond for a wet diaper.
