This is one of the worst companies I have ever come across. Please, please stay away. I was one of the unlucky people whose mortgage loan was sold to this company when I recently refinanced. I have had a nightmare of a time. They sent me a letter asking for proof of insurance for my home in August, I called them and gave them the information just a few days later, way before their deadline. They still went ahead and erroneously charged me for insurance claiming I never gave them proof of insurance. They went ahead against my knowledge and purchased a home insurance policy for my home and adjusted my mortgage payment. I called them for a SECOND time and begged to speak to a manager. After being transferred to a coupon hotline, then calling back and being on hold for more than an hour was finally able to get through. I gave the manager proof of insurance and told them this was MY SECOND TIME giving it to them, and I informed them I was purchasing a new home and moving all my insurances in a few weeks to a different company, but there would be no gaps in insurance ever for my home. The manager agreed, said he understood and informed me I would get my money back and my mortgage would go back to normal. Fast forward to now, nothing has happened. To top it off, the new insurance I changed to sent them a copy of my invoice which I paid already in full for a year and this company sent my new insurance company a payment! So now there are 2 payments on that insurance and Rushmore is charging me. They are absolutely clueless and an absolute nightmare to work with. I keep telling them, my INSURANCE has never been part of escrow, I HAVE ALWAYS had insurance and I HAVE ALWAYS PAID MY INSURANCE on that home and I have given you proof multiple times. To be completely honest I thought I was being pranked today. They kept trying to transfer me to the insurance department but their agents said it seemed he was able to be connected, but the insurance department couldn't hear him, so he gave me the number to call. So I call, and yeap, same thing, insurance department couldn't hear me, and they hung up, multiple times. Customer service is atrocious, spoke to them today and still no sight of resolution. I have wasted so much of my time and energy. I still can't believe they took out insurance on my house even after I presented them with proof of insurance TWICE. Then they went ahead and made a payment on my behalf, even though they weren't supposed to act on my behalf, that insurance was fully paid for the whole year. I am disgusted by this company. Please, please please, stay away, this is not a professional company, this is the worst of the worst. I am frankly unsure if these people are con or scam artists.
