Our Fiona, a beautiful 3yr old Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, is enduring 2 critical issues...breathing and walking. She was a rescue and came to us from our Vet at 4 pounds. She had spunk and was so smart. At 6 months her luxating patella slipped off its track and was at the side of her leg while playing in the living room. She went thru surgery but never fully recovered and stopped jumping and running. She could barely walk. Then we lost her big sister Mindy, a tricolor Cavaler last July which sent her into a huge depression and her weight started to climb as she would not play, walk or run and that affected the elongated soft palette which is now interfering with her breathing 24/7. She no longer can run or play but a couple of minutes.
The surgeon we saw was wonderful. They were very thorough with her examinations and came back with an assessment that made sense. They gave us weight goals before any surgery for either issue is attempted. The Drs listened to us, explained everything clearly, answered all our questions, and gave us an estimate of what the surgery cost would be. We discussed Fiona's weight loss goals over the next 6 weeks and if we are faced with anything critical they will see her. What more could we ask for from specialists. We have always had great support from these Drs and staff.
