My mother lived in Broomall Nursing and Rehab for 3 months until she passed away. She hated it. Some of the staff was nice but many were not. She needed assistance to the bathroom and was frequently ignored for long periods of time and would end up wetting her pants and left to sit in wet pants while she ate her meals. On some occasions, after bedtime if she had to go to the bathroom she would press her button. The aid came in and yelled at her "What do you want?" Then made her use a bed pan instead of helping her to the bathroom, spilled it on the bed and left her laying in it for a while before cleaning it up. What kind of way is this to treat elderly people? Some of the aids were nice but many were not. Often would see aids hiding in the corners ignoring the patients' calls for assistance. Talked to some of the staff about an incident that happened one night and was told that they keep cutting staff and don't have enough staff to care for all of the residents. This place needs new management that knows how to staff people to take care if the elderly, how to train staff to care for the elderly and needs to frequently check to make sure the patients are being treated with care and respect. Also, they serve high carb diets. My mother was diabetic. Her blood sugars were out if control much of her time there. My mother asked for a diabetic diet and they asked her what she meant by that. Also, they cannot provide a low sodium diet. I feel like we were lied to when we chose this place for our mom. We were told that their rating had improved and was going up again. Don't leave your loved ones here.
