Let me just preface with the fact that I've been in the restaurant industry for 20 + years and have done everything from dishwashing to management. My boyfriend and I used to eat here about 2 nights a week. We are a very easy table.. not very demanding, very forgiving and huge tippers. We've wanted to like this restaurant for years. Its always been a place you can go to late at night and we both get off late. The food was always good until this last year in particular. They've removed most of the main dishes from the menu and replaced them with mediocrocre dive bar level food. The service is what has REALLY tanked. The hostess at the front works at snail place and is not welcoming or friendly. The staff here needs to learn how to greet people people when they walk in the door. All it takes is a " hi how are ya... be right with ya" (even if it's not your position or table). It's not hard. The servers are not really that much better. There have been times we didn't even know who server was. We learned to sit in the bar that way you can at least ask the bartender if need something. I realize this is getting long so all in all after 2 flat growlers, wrong food more than 10 times and poor service most of the time we are done. Our last experience consisted of the following - waiting at the door for 4 or five minutes (it wasnt busy)....We waited at the host stand while the girl looked down and shuffled menus for what seemed like an eternity. Then she proceeded to take us to a super small table way in the farthest corner of the patio. There was only 1 other table on the whole patio, yet chose to sit us here. She never said a word to us the whole time even after we tried to be polite and thank her for her help. Then we sat and waited, and waited. Three other tables ( a six top, a five top, and a two top) were sat and served while we were never even acknowledged. One server looked over an saw us at one point as she was getting water for her 5 .. no one ever said hi to us, gave us water or anything. We sat there for 25 minutes before walking up to the front. The hostess was standing near the restroom and heard me perfectly well when I said I would like to speak with a manger. She just looked away glazed eyed and walked away. We will never come here again, even if they gave me free dinner for a month I would still refuse. I will also never reccomend this place to anyone ever. Being a server myself this place creates a bad image for others in the industry. We are not all just order takers... there are some places out there that have staff that provides GENUINE hospitality. Standing Stone is not one of them.
