I popped in for an Afternoon Tea assuming it would be a proper English experience. Silly me; they re all about making money at this establishment and apparently hardly know anything about the affair.
Firstly, the tea selection on offer is pathetically limited, though one would presume that since Fortnum & Mason sells a wide selection of tea, the same would be mirrored on the menu. Again, silly me and my presumptions!
I opted for the Duo of Scones as my sweet option . Well, there were no spoons provided to scoop out the clotted cream and jam unto my plate and I had to use the single knife provided for both, which naturally contaminated both dishes.
Regrettably, the entire matter was far from a pleasant experience for me and the hunger for commercialization at Fortnum & Mason overtakes tradition!
