We went in a party of eight for a friend's birthday. The place looks nice, and the service was good. It was overall, a nice place with a good atmosphere. My complaints are mostly about the food. Some of the food we had was amazing. Some of it was terrible. Overall, I have to rate it poorly on that account.

Some foods that were outstanding: the smoked gouda grits, the fire roasted corn. Other members in our party got the fish special and raved about it. The bread was good, and paired well with the flavored butter that it came with.

Some things that were not good: three of us tried the macaroni and cheese, and it was unanimously disliked. The Caesar salad was done in with a big splash of presentation that made it decidedly less palatable to me. It used hole leaves from romaine hearts, each drizzled with a slight amount of their Caesar dressing. There was one crouton, off to the side. The Parmesan cheese was melted into a disk that was placed on the salad. It was tough to cut and eat with the salad. Overall, it was just more work than it was worth.

My wife and I both ordered medium-rare steaks, but different cuts. I got the bone-in "cowgirl" cut, which was on special, and my wife ordered one from the menu. My wife's steak was cooked to her liking, but apparently not seasoned at all. This may appeal to the steak purists out there, but we prefer a little flavor. She opted not to finish it. My steak, on the other hand, was absolutely terrible. First, it was woefully undercooked. I'd call it seared, rather than rare. It was still very cool and dark purple in the center. The cut itself was a bad one, and not worth the premium price I paid. It was full of gristle and fat. And just like my wife's steak, it was entirely unseasoned.

Taken all together, I think I'd pass on eating here again. If you're going, I'd suggest staying away from the steaks and try something else.
