On Friday I visited the SSA office in Amarillo to find out details about retirement. I had read the bad reviews and was prepared for the worst. There were many people waiting, but there was no disturbances while I was there. I brought a laptop and worked for over an hour and kept myself busy, instead of sitting there stewing over the fact that it took a long time. It is a fact that it will take some time, but I found the representative, John, to be quite helpful and pleasant. Don't blame the workers for the delays. I believe they are doing the best they can do with the limited staff that they have. Prepare to be gracious and kind! They are real people like you and me!
