We were sailing around French Polynesia for a few weeks and before flying home we decided to end the trip with a few days of luxury. My husband is lifetime top status with the brand so we booked last minute but were upgraded to an over water bungalow at no charge. (we booked on points - for reference). All in all it was a nice trip but as we were there with our young son and it wasn't our honeymoon the property was wasted on us a bit. We had a nice time and our butler was sweet - our son was spoiled rotten with goodies and the GM resolved the several small issues we encountered graciously and quickly. Even came to our bungalow to chat and ensure the problem was resolved properly. If you are looking for a romantic getaway you will not be disappointed and if you are the type to stay on property the whole trip this is the place for you but for us, I think we were just too adventurous for Bora Bora in general and is was more of a box check in our opinion. It is a beautiful island but it is NOT an authentic French Polynesian destination. Don't bother venturing off property either - the town is basically one big strip mall and you have to pass extreme poverty and squalor to get there.
