Stayed here as part of corporate travel. When I make my own arrangements I usually opt for Holiday Inn Express for the consistency and amenities at a reasonable rate. My impression of the Parc 55 is that I am currently trying to resolve preauthorization hold for incidentals; since none were incurred and it's been over 7 days since my departure I find the continuation of the hold irritating.
This does not help sway me from the thought that for $325/night it was an ordinary room with a poor climate control system, and that no gratuity amenities (such as complimentary bottled water or breakfast) were available (actually just the contrary -- 2 bottles marked $5 each were obnoxiously on the desk, and should you want a breakfast buffet it's $30).
The neighborhood is rather mixed with some seedy elements, so personally I'd look elsewhere unless the horrible traffic and the pricey BART tickets force you to keep close to downtown.
