Thoughts on the Staff at Cambridge Village of Apex

I ve lived in several retirement homes as well as innumerable condo complexes, and have never before now run into a staff that was so pleasant, courteous, willing to help me in any way and cheerful about it all.
There is Freda who cleans my apartment every week. She also works for my sister who lives nearby. Freda recently told her, your brother is doing better at keeping his apartment straight between cleanings. Then she added, but he still has a way to go! Freda is a gem.

And then her colleagues at the front desk whose Hello Mr. Guy resounds across the lobby when I enter. Or Troy who picks up my heavy packages from Amazon like they weigh nothing and delivers them to my apartment.
Or Lea who greets me at the entrance of the dining room and usually leads me to a table with 2 or 3 other residents. It s a nice way to get to know your neighbors. But on those days when I feel like growling at everyone, Lea finds a table for me all by myself. Or Nick and Tom, part of the maintenance crew, who would do anything for me. When my central air/heat went out a few months ago, they were in my apartment within the hour and soon had it working again.

I could go on and on. The folks in the Wellness Center or Kristina, our massage therapist, who skillfully works the knots out of my back week after week, etc.
When I read this review over, I was a little shocked. I m a 92 year old crusty and somewhat cynical retired History professor who usually left red marks all over students papers and rarely gave out an A. I don t write glowing reports. But rather to my surprise, this staff has won me over.
