My wife went into surgery for a 3-4 hours surgery ...

My wife went into surgery for a 3-4 hours surgery which lasted 6.5 hours, this was needed and she has an excellent surgeon. Recovery was to be a couple of hours, it lasted more and then the news came she will be going to ICU: I asked to see her and my request was denied, the nursing supervisor mentioning HIPPA!
Again in the ICU, we had to enter her room from an outside door and if we needed to use the bathroom we could not use the one on the unit we had to walk a long corridor to the public ones, again HIPPA!
Then while in her room, I observed 6 visitors walking inside the unit, passing by my wife's room and congregating in from of a room nextdoor. Their pic is on my page in FB and this is HIPPA for Rex.
The nursing staff in the ICU and on 6th floor are wonderful, compassionate and professional. I will refrain to describe the one in recovery! Shame on you!
