Upon entering Pittypat s Porch, you re teleported to a place that would look like grandma s house. Wooden floors, the yellowed floral wallpaper, even the expensive China that is never used are all pieces that add to the aesthetic of the restaurant.

We were seated quickly as it was closer to closing time but oddly enough, the staff was not bothered at the fact that we came in late. They were all very welcoming, courteous, and polite.

I started off with a Mint Julep: it was more bourbon-y than minty, but after hours of travel, I preferred it. A solid 3.5 / 5.

We then moved to the Crawfish Dip which had crawfish, garlic, celery, onion, and Gouda cheese. It was a lot more than I expected and was perfect for 2 people. 5/5

My main was the Aunt Pittypat s Fried Chicken it was touted to be the best southern fried chicken but to be fair it was a step above Popeye s chicken (which I really enjoy!). The skin could have been crunchier, but the chicken overall was cooked well and juicy. I would have liked more veggies but that s the pretentious Californian in me wanting to eat healthy. And lastly the greens and beans were a nice touch. 4/5

Lastly we had the Key Lime Pie. This dessert stole the show. Soft, fluffy, lime-y. All the things you would expect out of a Key Lime Pie but 10x better. Would definitely eat again. 10/5

In all, Pittypat s is a great place to go if you re staying in the immediate downtown area. With great service and good food, you can t go wrong here as a first stop in the ATL.
