I grew close with some of the staff there. Let alone the place is not safe. My first day there i was in the intake room with my parents and the hand held radio was on the charger next to us; when you first get there you can't understand what is being said on the radios and have to adapt to the words. While doing my intake you could hear screaming and panic on the radio. Turns out, before going in to my unit, school and the unit was shut down for the day because the unit i was placed on (Monarch 1) had jumped a girl on Monarch 2 unit. Then later that night, there was a girl who took the broom stick and busted the lights out above our heads. She then started to cut her self with the glass from the broken light and put our unit on lock down. I was there from April 3rd, 2017 to May 13th, 2017. I also experienced a girl locking herself in the bathroom and breaking the glass cover on the toilet and began cutting herself really bad. They locked us all in our classroom which were in a trailer until they could get the situation under control which took what seemed like forever. There was blood all over the bathroom floor and this is honestly the only thing I've ever been scared of. The place counselors were not helpful. They had attitudes of their way or no way. The staff hated their jobs and would vent on a regular bases of how poor the facility was managed. I can admit some of the staff are really great people and they did want to help the girls there, but the counselors had all the control and it was a very bad situation. I would not recommend this for your child or any one you know. This place is a living nightmare and a terrible placed for troubled teens to be. Plus the bathrooms have mold on them, showers are nasty, we didn't have the right cleaning supplies. And when you had visitation, you had no privacy what so ever. If you were on suicide watch or runaway, you couldn't be outside with your parents. If you have young siblings, they cannot come to see you on visitation days. Also, the program was a 6 months to a year long but there were girls in there that had been there for a year and a half + some. Again, this place is terrible and gives me the goosebumps talking about it. if you want to have your child stay somewhere where the only safe place was in the back of the rooms with your back against the wall... then this is it. This place is terrible and i highly recommend NOT sending your child there. Terrible facility! My name is Jordan and i don't care who knows what happen here on my behave. This place is terrible and i wasn't able to explain everything that i experienced within 8 weeks! This place was a torture for some staff and the residents. It feels like the Therapist had no control over their personal lives so they made ours miserable!
