Ken Review of Pinelawn Memorial Park

I never thought that I would be writing a review for a cemetery, but I feel that Pinelawn is worthy of this criticism. Much of my family has been buried at this particular cemetery in Farmingdale. But it was only within the last year that both my parents were buried there and I felt compelled to visit their graves on Mother's Day and Father's Day. However, it is impossible to find their graves among the thousands (probably tens of thousands) that are there. We live in the digital age and the age of GPS. I am surprised how difficult it is to find my parent's grave site. I don't think it's unreasonable to have some sort of online access (perhaps via Google) to a record that could help pinpoint the exact location of where they're buried. Even if you didn't use GPS, there should be some sort of online location service that would lead me to them. It turns out that they (Pinelawn) don't make use of these ubiquitous tools. If I want to find my parent's grave sites, I would have to take a day of of work and go to the Pinelawn office just to get the location of where my parent's are buried. I think that's a bit much to ask for from all of the people who have trusted Pinelawn for the final resting place of their loved ones. I don't think it's outlandish to expect some sort of online grave location device. For that, they get no more than two stars.
