When one hears the name 'uz Leuven', one quickly thinks of the best, most modern hospital in Belgium, perhaps in Europe.
I do know from personal experience that this is ABSOLUTELY not the case.
A few years ago I got chronic pain, and after a while we ended up hopefully at Uz Leuven.
After a waiting period of half a year I finally got to the specialist, who of course only went in for 5 minutes, and three months later I had to return.
In the meantime I had an appointment in the orthopedic department for my back.
A doctor came in along with his male intern.
This doctor treated me so badly that I cried, and his intern started crying, so you can imagine the atmosphere.
The arrogance dripped from it, for all doctors in Leuven by the way, because they work in `LEUVEN`.
He was arrogant, rude, not a bit of sympathy ...
After three months I had an appointment with the first doctor again.
So there was no one.
Suddenly a female doctor comes and says that there is nothing she can do and if I have thought about taking a Dafalgan (!), Otherwise I would have to go to England for hypnosis.
The interior is also not at all what one expects for the `most modern hospital in Belgium`, but old and worn, really not even a decent cafeteria.
I thought that doctors became doctors to help people, not to fill and to give extra for the UZ Leuven.
