My son and I have been patients with Dermatology Consultants of Frisco for over five years. Although I love with my doctor Holly Glover, I cannot say the same for the office policies. I understand the need for a no-show fee as it doesn't give the doctors time to fill the appointment slot. However, if you call to reschedule one to two days prior to your appointment it's considered a "no show" yet this is not communicated to you (I'm sure it's somewhere in the initial paperwork that was completed 5 years ago). After three "No Shows" you're fined $50. I had no clue our family had even ONE No Show on our account, let alone THREE (No-Shows accrue throughout the years. Your past sins are never wiped clean until you literally paid) so I was shocked when I found out we were charged $50 for rescheduling an appointment prior to the appointment time. It wouldn't be so difficult to swallow had there not been appointments involving long waiting times to see the doctor. I am a single mother who is paid hourly. Sitting in a waiting room during office hours costs more than the office visit, it also costs lost wages while away from work. That being said, I've never even been upset with long waiting times... it's the nature of the business and to be honest it didn't happen too often. After spending thousands of dollars with this office with numerous visits and procedures (I have a high deductible so each visit is paid in cash), I would expect as much give as there is take. Communicate with the patient when they call to reschedule that rescheduling will be considered a "no show" and remind them of the policy. I seldom if ever write negative reviews, 90% of the time my reviews are positive (who likes a complainer)! However, today's experience was just poor customer service in my book. To say I'm disappointed in the "office policy" is an understatement. Unfortunately, I'll be finding a new doctor all because of a stingy office policy and lack of communication. Sighhh.
