I would encourage staff (namely Matt) at this location to consider supplemental training on how insurance works. It is beyond naive to insist that insurable interest is only protected if the lessee is the 'primary named insured'. The only requirement is that they are a 'named insured'. The problem with pretending to know what you are talking about is that it frustrates the customer and wastes the time of insurance professionals you work with every day. (When we have mutual customers it is important that we get along; I just wonder how much time has been wasted in the aggregate because of a bit of ignorance)

I contacted Toyota Financial Services directly to confirm their standards align with how insurance actually works, and the confusion is not with them or myself.
