Over the years I've had great experiences ordering from Rockauto. Spent over a thousand in parts for sure, probably more, but don't tell my wife!
Recently I had the unfortunate experience where I was sent the wrong brake parts. While I only confirmed that some of the parts were wrong, being that it's brakes I sent all the parts back...not taking chances with safety items.
The return process on the website was easy to use, and I received a refund for almost the amount I paid. The almost is the issue...since I returned parts that I couldn't confirm were wrong or right, I wasn't refunded for the shipping on those parts...and then some. After a back and forth with the service reps, my ticket was arbitrarily closed with no real solution, other than "it's in our Return Policy".
Since it's in their return policy that the return shipping was on me, that's my bad then. But the extra money they kept I still have no explanation for.
I had a good run buying parts from them, but will need to take my business elsewhere as that last order cost me money and I don't have any parts to show for it.
I was hoping to find a contact for the owner Jim Taylor to bring this directly to his attention, but no such luck. Best I can do is leave a post and hope other unsuspecting victims find it helpful.
