I work at a pet hospital on Shaw and 99. There was a medium brindle dog running around causing traffic problems and people almost hitting it. I called the first time about a week ago because we were unable to catch the dog and they came out. They were out there awhile so I assumed they took the dog. A lady called and said she received a text message stating that it might be her dog running around and described the dog to me perfectly. I told her the SPCA picked up the dog and to check there and she was super excited. The next day I saw the dog running around again. I called the SPCA and told them about the lady looking and said again that someone needs to come get the dog before it causes an accident or it gets killed. They sent someone out and they sat in the truck for about 5 minutes and then left. Today I arrived at work and the dog is smashed and opened all over the street. Now I had to call the SPCA to pick up a dead dog and if that lady calls back I will have to give her the bad news. The SPCA constantly lets us down this is just the worst case. Not to mention all the dogs we see at my hospital with parvo and kennel cough that they adopt out from the shelter. Then they give people an option to get a new dog and return the other like its some sort of shirt from the store...its disgusting.
