I have been going to Garden State for all three of my dogs since 2000. Yes they are a little expensive, BUT IT IS A 24 emergency ROOM for your pet. You can at anytime purchase pet insurance and you would not have $5,000 bills. lets not forget the patient cannot talk to the doctor and most likely has been sick longer than you have realized. Animals life expectancy is much shorter and comes on fast and strong and we do not expect or want the out come. I know this first hand with the death of my first Rottie. I was devastated, I got the blood tests here at Garden State and I couldnt believe what I was hearing "Cancer" 6-9 months with Chemo 3-6months without. Worst Sunday ever.. Even after the blood work, xrays, biopsy. I still rushed to my Regualr Vet the next morning and had the same blood work performed and an xray there. It was the same. Knowing what the final outcome would be, I opted for Chemo the next day. By that night, it spread to the brain and I had to put my first dog down. I am sure he was sick for months but dogs hid pain very well, they want to please their owners. Could I have blamed the Vet because they told me I have 3-6 months? Maybe.. but they are only guessing. What I can tell you is that they gave me a private room for over 6 hours, let me invite my family, friends, my employees and we feed him chicken and vanilla icecream. And we cried and laughed. And the staff and Doctor was amazing. I held my 120lb Rottie in my arms as he took his last breathe, and I will be forever grateful for how I was treated here. I later adopted two more dogs and I have always been treated great.
