During our stay we had excellent snowfall, and the mountain itself is well maintained. The primary downfall with Castle Mountain resort is the lack of any quality in all of their amenities. The pub/restaurant is tiny, and the service there is inexcusably horrible. We sat down and were attended to one time only in a 2 hour span. Additionally, the rooms for staying are sold to customers under false pretenses. The room we were in was sold as "sleeps 6" (the Timber Rock), but in reality, 2 of those 6 are supposed to sleep on a pull out couch; while not a deal breaker, the pull out couch they have is easily some of the worse sleep I've ever had in my life. The mattress was paper thin, and we slept with a cross-bar digging into our backs the entire night. You're better off sleeping on the floor. Again, inexcusable. There are other things that will start to grind your gears once you've amassed this list of qualms in your own head: snow removal is non-existent. We were snowed in, and over 48 hours the road in our area was never plowed, and we got stuck trying to drive a downhill drive way with 4x4. If you're desperate for a cheap hill to ride on, check this place out, as the mountain is adequate, but everything else is inexcusably horrible.
