Beyond frustrating experience. They kept my car for 8 days and didn t do anything until I called them 3 separate times. I expect it would still be there if I hadn t called so much. They told my insurance company that they received and released the car on the same day. (False)
I told them multiple times what happened: I hit a curb, another mechanic told me my rack and pinion needs replaced among other repairs. They looked at my car for 20 minutes and told me nothing was wrong with my car and that a power steering pump needed replaced and it was just out of alignment . I told them that I know what a car is like when it s out of alignment but my car was not safe to drive down the road. My previous car (Toyota camry) had power steering issues so I knew the difference between a problem and something completely separate. I tried to explain that the steering issue happened after I hit the curb and auto body told me it was just a coincidence . Nothing but disrespect to ignore my concerns.
I took it to Belle Tire for the power steering pump and they told me MY CAR DOESN T EVEN HAVE A POWER STEERING PUMP. It s a hybrid so it was the rack and pinion as the original mechanic said.
The best part was that the mistake from Auto Body was blamed on a mechanic that was inexperienced with the Prius... the Prius has been around since 1997, and you re telling me you can t find a mechanic with hybrid/Prius experience?
So I took it to Metro Toyota to get an *actual* estimate. Metro told me that I need over $5000 in repairs. So much for nothing wrong .
