Horrible staff and subpar experience. I don't mind crowds and expected a large crowd here. It was the disorganization of the employees that makes it difficult. For example, we asked were to go for coat check pickup and were told to go to the exit. When we went there, they said no, you have to go back to the entrance line. When I asked the information desk where to go, I was told sometimes it's one way, sometimes it's another. For a place this busy, you need to have good signage and employees that have clear direction to help avoid confusion. And who can forget the employee ( security gaurd I believe) walking through the crowded entrance hall saying "coming through, move, if you're in front of me I'm going to push you."

The exhibits were good, the Hall of Minerals is in terrible condition for such a prestigious museum. Hayden Planetarium is a must and was the best part of our visit. I'd stick with the add-on exhibits like the Imax and for us, we saw the Poison exhibit. With these changing regularly they tend to be better.
