We make our way up to the Emilyann Theatre every December to see the Trail of Lights. While not as large and well-funded as some trails, such as the one at Zilker, this set-up is great and is such a large part of many locals' Christmas tradition here in Wimberley, including ours.
You will find -- along with the new light dispalys added annually -- hot cocoa for sale; marshmallows on skewers to toast over the campfire that is burning beside the stage, which usually features a local musician; free books for the kids, a lawnmower-train ride and much more.
