Have been a service customer here since late 2016 for my 'new to me' 2014 Toyota Sienna (purchased from a dodge dealer in the city), and have been doing service here since then. Recently was asked why I have been paying for oil changes as my Sienna (at least the VIN of my sienna) has a Toyota Platinum Extra Care Package that included free oil changes and a 7 year 200,000km extension. When I inquired at the dealership service supervisor about this coverage they informed that it was true that it was purchased for the vehicle but I would have had to transfer the extended warranty within 30 days of the date on my registration when I bought it. The dealership said they cant help, contact Toyota Canada. This is something I would have expected communicated to me on my initial service only a week or so after my purchase. Gateway was kind enough to offer to let me re-purchase the warranty a second time for the vehicle. I did not specifically inquire about any extended warranty so I guess it is partially my own fault, I just expected more service than they are willing to give.
