Two weeks ago I got in line for the David Lynch presale and was one of the last lucky few to get a ticket to the signing. I put the ticket in my purse in a safe pocket so I wouldn't lose it. My idiot self, after having an insane two weeks, completely lost track of the ticket, though I swore I never touched it in my purse. I felt so bad as I had told my friend (an even bigger Lynch fan) that I might not be able to get an album signed for him after all. I called the manager at Amoeba and while he was very nice, said that the only way I could get in was with that ticket since the event sold out. I called every place I'd been, tore my car and apartment apart to no avail. I chalked it up to a loss and decided the day after the signing I would go back to Amoeba and see if there was any way I could at least pick up my pre-sale records. One of the store cashier's (bless her soul I can't remember her name but she had brown curly hair) went to find her supervisor Karen. I told Karen what happened, that I was an idiot, showed her my time stamp on my bank transaction, and explained I wouldn't mind taking the black records (I'd originally ordered the limited color versions) since I was already out $72 from the sale. She was so kind, and goes "let me just check something in the back." She comes out and goes "his signature got a bit messed up on this one." No joke she came out with a Twin Peaks album with David Lynch's messed up signature and I almost hit the floor. I didn't have words and I wish I could've thanked her more. I can't wait to send this record off to my friend and not feel like such a disappointment! It's actually kinda cool to me that the signature is off. So basically, my record collection is about to get a lot bigger because Amoeba records deserves all of my money! Thank you guys so much!
