A little background, I adopted two kittens from this shelter a couple months ago and the people were amazing. They were so amazing and I was so taken back, I decided that I wanted to volunteer. I want to share this with any and all due to the extreme unprofessional-ism I was subjected to by Jen Adams, the volunteer coordinator. I completed the orientation class and was discussing the flexibility of scheduling to complete my training with Ms. Adams. I explained that I am an attorney and my schedule is very hectic, but I wanted to make this work. The conversation was not going smoothly and Ms. Adams began speaking to me with an extremely unprofessional attitude. Her tone of voice was combative and aggressive, at one point she even stated "wow I can tell your an attorney." Our conversation came to a conclusion with Ms. Adams hanging up the phone on me. I am thoroughly sickened that this treatment of people trying to volunteer their own time is tolerated.
