They arranged a job offer for me, told me that the trainer could pick me up in my town, and then I drove more than 100+ miles ONE WAY for unpaid orientation - to be told afterwards that he never said the trainer would pick me up. He then told me "your ride is not the trainer's responsibility" when I mentioned asking my trainer if I could carpool with him (since he lives in my town).
I'm not seeing what's wrong with asking someone to carpool. Apparently this company thinks that you're supposed to want to drive 200+ miles - every week on your 1-2 days off because they will charge you per mile if you want to take a company truck home so that transportation is easier.
They called me the morning after orientation to let me know I'm "not a good fit" for the company because I have problems I brought up. This is AFTER I told them I would rather stay out for 3 weeks and go home for 1 week so as to put less driving on my personal car.
They don't want you driving for a company (like grubhub, pizza hut, etc) on your off time because it could affect your 34 hrs, but apparently having drivers drive 2+ hrs into/from work every week doesn't affect it.
