The experience I had today is exactly why I DO NOT take my car into this dealership for service any more. Astronomical "diagnostic fees"!!!
My car battery was dead (as in could not jump start it). FYI - the battery was under warranty which the ONLY reason I took it back to the dealer. The service department said that they had to test the battery in the vehicle for a complete electrical check. Okay, makes sense so far. The battery was so dead the test and recharge took all afternoon. I received a call the next morning saying the battery was fully charged and the car is ready. Only cost me $28 (reasonable). When I show up to get it, the radio, back-up camera, etc do not function. Seems they would have noticed that?? Went right back in and was told they would now have to run a diagnostic. Turns out the radio was somehow "locked out" and had to be reset. They had the car for less than an hour and I get charged an extra $120. That "diagnostic fee" is outrageous.
