The permanent collection at the Getty Center pales...

The permanent collection at the Getty Center pales in comparison to the comprehensive collections of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, but the mountain top setting of the Getty Center is what makes the facility worth visiting.

Traffic and parking near the museum are a nightmare. Better public transportation and signage would greatly reduce the number of frustrated patrons. Employees performing crowd control were courteous, but it was clear that the facility was beyond a comfortable operating capacity when I visited.
