One of what - maybe five really solid ski areas for steep skiing in the state. After passing exit 216/205, it's a haul until you get to another area that makes this kind of commitment to their expert skiing community... Silverton, Crested Butte, Telluride, Highlands... That's really about it. Plenty of other great ski resorts - don't get me wrong, and for everything AB gets right on terrain, there are some real head scratchers elsewhere. But if you want to ski, for real, no bs, this is the spot.
