Lauren Bowden Review of Mill creek carpet & tile

I m not sure where to begin. Writing a review is unusual for me. I own a business and I like customers to come to me with concerns so I can fix them. Inevitably, things happen. A company with the right morals and values will make the customer at ease within reason. I did try to work out my issues with MillCreek. I ll begin and only touch on the major points to be as brief as possible. I ordered flooring, tile, and granite from MillCreek that was installed by their subs. The granite went in fine. The flooring is still not repaired but I believe it will be an easy fix *if they will just do it*. The tile has been an absolute circus from step one. I never ordered metal edge pieces. Can you believe something would be installed that wasn t requested or discussed? There were other issues early on. They were sidestepped and fixed pretty easily. But what can you do when everything s installed already? I decided to be agreeable and keep the ones in the master shower with the understanding that other issues like oddly cut tile, hazardous metal edges and thick grout lines would be corrected. Seemed ok. I accepted the metal edge pieces on the backsplash because they were thin and what s done is done. They did have to remove and replace pieces on my backsplash. The correction looks trashy with thick white grout lines around the corrected areas and tight tiles that met right originally. They kept saying we ll see how it looks . Well, it doesn t look that great. The worst problem of all is the shower in the jack & jill bathroom. I could go on and on. My builder and I even had top officials of the company over to look and they said they thought it looked fine. It s within tolerance . And my walls aren t straight? I ask them to make certain changes to get around issues and it gets danced around because they SAY they want to. But they don t really WANT to. So I say ok. I m conceding to be agreeable (we would have been there all day dancing around it if I hadn t)... just replace the square metal with the rounded edge and we ll be done with it. Please understand I never ordered metal trim I actually specifically ordered black TILE trim pieces for this bathroom that never came. The correction that was made that I looked over this evening is hardly any improvement. I left exhausted. If this was a Utica remodel I think a little more effort would ve been given if it wasn t a PERFECT situation. But again. Nothing was said until after the fact. I was told the liaison would be supervising the correction work. He did not. In fact, he came very late yesterday, work hadn t begun by 11:30. He said they were waiting on product. It was only the backsplash? There are two other issues being worked on and all of them drive separately? I walk in, he s on a personal call in my bedroom to his internet company. He said he wasn t pleased with their service and he d be canceling. I wish this debacle was that easy for me but unfortunately I ll still have to pay the bill for unfinished flooring and a tile design that isn t mine. My home is not my own. It was hijacked by MillCreek and even though I tried to be reasonable, the liaison told my builder I was hostile. Nothing about my interaction with the company has been anything like that. I was serious when I asked him a question, he was immediately arrogant. You bet I let him know right away that wasn t acceptable. I have every right to ask questions. I ve been kind the whole time. Until that point. I feel like there s so much more to it and much more to say. I would just suggest to anyone interested, hire someone else. I will be sending folders of information and pictures to all of my builder friends. Angry is an understatement. The phots are just a few hours old, this is the corrected work.
