I have a teenage daughter who sadly is having suicidal tendencies. So this is obviously a very emotional time for our family. I just spent the last 3 hours trying to find a facility for outpatient mental healthcare and have been very unsuccessful at finding a facility that treats minors. I called our insurance provider for assistance who recommended calling our local hospital stating they often have this type of outpatient service and told me to ask for the mental health dept. So I called CPMC and when the lady answered the phone and I asked for the mental heath dept, she first chuckled than in one of those "you idiot" type tones said " this is a hospital, we don't do mental health here". Well.....thank you for your compassion.
