This is the second time I am having to review Auto...

This is the second time I am having to review AutoTrakk for pretty much the same thing. I had leased a car in 2015. Everything was fine, I was making payments accordingly, mind you the payments were never reflected on my credit score. In 2017, I was involved in a serious car accident that resulted in my daughter and I being injured. It also resulted in the fully insured and gap insured car being totaled. I of course alerted my insurance first because they take claims 24/7 and then I alerted AutoTrakk. A few weeks after the accident I received a letter from AutoTrakk stating that I owed $500 for excessive wear and tear, sure, I mean the car was literally missing the entire front, the tire was lopsided, things were broken under the hood, and the engine was hanging on for dear life, so yes, that seems like excessive wear and tear. At least it would seem that way if I was not hit by someone doing 45 in a 25 and forced head on into a pole. Well, my insurance told me to forward it to them, that they would handle it as they so no reason for me to have received a bill and they were kind enough to tell me how much they paid out vs. how much my gap insurance should have covered. I assumed it was taken care of as did my insurance agent. Jump to almost 4 years after the accident, I receive a phone call asking me about paying $500 to AutoTrakk and if we could set something up. Mind you the call comes in the middle of a pandemic, which already seems like a terrible business practice, but it was convenient how the call came around the same time as the stimulus checks were coming out. I asked for documentation of this owed amount and was just sent the papers that I signed, which did not explain at all what this $500 was for. Then after a couple calls, the woman told me that it was for a deductible that was never paid. Okay? So, why did you not call me in 2017? Or even 2018? Why did it take almost 4 years for a phone call? I wish I kept all of my documents from the accident this long, because my breakdown from my insurance definitely led me to believe everything was paid and being I never in 4 years received anything from AutoTrakk, I assumed everything was fine. I would NOT at all recommend them to anyone.

Another reason, other than this weird $500 I suddenly owe them, about a month after the accident I was looking for a car. I found a car dealer that worked with AutoTrakk and the salesman was pretty sure he could have gotten me into the SUV I was looking at for a similar payment as I was previously making. Cool. I called AutoTrakk and asked them what all I needed to do from there. The man basically told me I had to reapply and pay the $1000, even though when I first signed the paperwork, I was told the down payment would be waived if I would get into a total loss accident. Basically they were not willing to work with me because according to them, I was no longer a customer and that I assume is only for customers.

I guess I am just glad I did not die in the accident. I would have hated to burden my husband with a funeral only for on the 4 year anniversary of my death have one of you people calling him and demanding he pay $500 for some nonsense.
