My sister and I attended the Pinelawn Memorial Park candlelight vigil that was held at the end of October. It was beautiful. The setting was serene and peaceful, and the ceremony was dignified and respectful. It was even more meaningful to us because our mom was not able to have a funeral and full burial, because of COVID. It meant so much that we could honor her life and celebrate her with others who have also lost loved ones this year.

A week later, we attended the Fall Foliage tour that they held. While it was drizzly all day, it was still a very lovely experience. The planning that goes into beautifying such a large park is absolutely amazing. Kristyn and Freddy were our guides and their knowledge about the park and the trees and plants is detailed and interesting. We ended the day with hot apple cider and snacks under a canopy of peacefully majestic trees. On that day, we were told about other events that are held in the arboretum, such as a bee day and a lady bug release. We will definitely be looking out for these events next year and we look forward to the spring foliage tour.

My sister and I often come to this arboretum to visit, and to just walk around the grounds. It helps to keep us connected to both of our parents, who are buried there. But in addition to this, it's a peaceful and beautiful place to spend quality time with nature.
