We have been back and forth several times from San Angelo to UMC Lubbock between Trauma Center, the ER, surgeries, etc. for the last 3 months after my dad's accident. My parents are older and can't drive, so one of us always brings them back and forth, it's a 3 hour trip one way. Because they're only allowing one visitor in with a patient, I have to sit out in the parking lot in the car for hours. Taking that time into consideration, plus a 6 hour round trip drive, makes for a very long and uncomfortable day. The hospital should have different arrangements available for people who have to drive long distances to be here. It's not like I can just drive back across town to go home and wait.
