What a disappointment. Visited on the 17th Dec to see The Cathedral Illuminated show and instead saw a show of mis-management by the event staff.

Upon having our tickets checked, we were placed into a large group of people with no instruction. Our entry was delayed as the staff were calling through tickets from half an hour prior. Eventually, the large group that had accumulated were given access to the cathedral grounds in something akin to a stampede. The grounds themselves were poorly lit, which made navigation difficult and I fell over a chain fence that had not been clearly signposted, it was invisible in the darkness. When meeting the event staff at the next checkpoint, we were told that an incident had held up the groups and caused a delay. We were eventually let through to watch the main show on the Cathedral, but were met with large crowds and people from the next groups cutting across the Cathedral grounds, ignoring the event staff, in order to gain access to the cathedral. We decided to leave at this point and reported our concerns to the event staff on the gate, they listened to our comments but seemed passive regarding our experience offering us tickets to go around again that night, but the large groups still lingering. When mentioning the chain link fence, I was told it would be sorted tomorrow.

We ended up missing out on the show inside of the Cathedral to much disappointment.

Overall, a dire performance and a complete disgrace to the Cathedral. The event management ruined what was meant to be a magical Christmas event.
