Had I not visited Delphi, this would have rated 5 stars. As a fortress it would have been virtually impregnable. Some of the ruins have lost definition but the cistern is well worth a visit. Helpful if you have a good torch with you. The burial tombs are spectacular too. Being the seat of the Mycean culture it is worth visiting if, like me, you studied the Iliad and the Odyssey. Not an easy site to visit unless you have a car or ona bus trip. Good free car park. Wonderful museum that displays artifacts in a logical, timeline manner. Museum rates nearly as high as Delphi.
