Though this is a good place to go spend a small fortune for a degree, I'd recommend you get certs. Unless you need a degree for what you want to accomplish, consider your options thoroughly. Although I will say that getting a cert is going to be harder than taking a class at UMGC. But most cert exams are a fraction of the cost compared to taking a class at UMGC. So think about the yield on your investment, especially what it will net you - because a degree doesn't always equate to a job (or a good paying one).

This institution is only concerned with getting as much of your money as possible... There is no real oversight within the departments or care for the student's well being. There is, however, a 'buddy-buddy' system that is indicative of a bad culture. But maybe that's simply "higher education" these days... They ought to just let people write checks for diplomas instead of making them jump through hoops - considering the curriculum is a joke, as others have pointed out.

The only valuable experience you will get, that can be applied to the workforce, is churning out BS and taking big data dumps. I don't feel any more prepared, or trained, for real-world jobs / technical work. So please be advised there are other options, out there for you, that have the potential to do just as much for your career - if not more.
