The mauritshuis has some very small rooms so it can feel a bit packed when looking at the paintings but the paintings are of excellent quality! Plan to go early to avoid the packed crowds in small rooms. Personally these paintings are of higher standard than the museums in Amsterdam. There is a gift shop and a cafe for refreshments and the piece the resistance, the painting of Vermeer: "The girl with the pearl"
