Used the Holyhead to Dublin route last weekend. Booked on the Swift both ways (and paid a premium for that). Got bounced on to the cruise ferry in each case due to 'adverse weather' conditions. Definitely not the case on the outbound journey. Sea was calm and winds light. More a case of 'too few bookings', I think! If we go again, will go with Stena.
