Upon arrival to this orthopedic office(4th Fl), I was told I couldn t accompany a patient back to his appointment due to Covid. I explained to Rosie that the patient was disabled and needed my assistance. she proceeded to ask what was his disability, because he looked physically fine to her. In order for me to acccompy him I had to verbally tell her aloud what was wrong with him; I immediately followed with I should ve not have had to disclose that! This was especially upsetting as there were two other patients present that could hear me. I m certain there are acts or laws or even protocols that should make this interaction a bit more discreet. Needless to say, he was embarrassed as was I. Rosie wasn t empathetic or apologetic at all. She could have even tried to save face upon our departure, as she was still sitting there! Definitely won t be back!
